1 Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create a wellB account or use our services, you may provide us with:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, password, and profile photo
  • Profile Details: Age, gender, wellness goals, and preferences
  • Health & Wellness Data: Activity levels, sleep patterns, mood logs, wellbeing assessments, and fitness information that you voluntarily enter
  • Nutrition Data: Food logs, dietary preferences, and nutritional goals
  • Payment Information: Billing details for premium subscriptions (processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store card details)
  • Communications: Messages you send to our support team

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the wellB app, we automatically collect:

  • Usage Data: Features accessed, content viewed, session duration, and interaction patterns
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, crash reports, and performance data
  • Location Data: General geographic region (based on IP address) — we do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature

1.3 Information from Third Parties

If you sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive your name and email from that provider in accordance with their privacy policies. We may also receive data from analytics and crash-reporting tools we use to improve the app.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and personalize the service: Create your account, deliver your WellB Score, recommend relevant content, and tailor your experience to your wellness goals
  • Improve our products: Analyze usage patterns and feedback to develop new features and fix bugs
  • Process payments: Manage subscriptions and billing through our secure payment processor
  • Communicate with you: Send service-related notifications, product updates, and (with your consent) marketing communications
  • Ensure safety & security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations: Respond to lawful requests from authorities when required

We process your health and wellness data solely to provide you with the wellB service. This data is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.

3 Data Sharing & Disclosure

We never sell your personal data. We share data only as described below and only to the extent necessary.

3.1 Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the app:

  • Cloud Hosting: Secure storage and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized usage data (e.g., Firebase Analytics)
  • Payment Processing: Subscription billing (e.g., Stripe, Apple/Google in-app purchases)
  • Customer Support: Help desk tools to respond to your inquiries
  • Crash Reporting: Error logs to maintain app stability

All service providers are contractually bound to handle your data only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: comply with a legal obligation; protect the rights, property, or safety of wellB, our users, or the public; or detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.

3.3 Business Transfers

If wellB is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice in the app before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you. Specifically:

  • Account data: Kept while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion, to allow account recovery
  • Health & wellness data: Kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of account deletion
  • Usage & analytics data: Retained in aggregated, anonymized form for up to 24 months
  • Support communications: Retained for up to 3 years for legal and operational purposes
  • Financial records: Retained for 7 years as required by applicable tax laws

You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time through the app Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by contacting us at privacy@wellb.ai.

5 Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing
  • Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data
  • Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

Push Notifications

You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or within the wellB app under Settings → Notifications.

Marketing Communications

You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email we send, or by adjusting your preferences in the app.

6 Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Access controls limiting who within wellB can view sensitive data
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Incident response procedures for potential data breaches

No system is 100% secure. While we take strong precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.

In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

7 Children's Privacy

wellB is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under these ages.

If we become aware that a child under the applicable minimum age has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such data promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with data without proper consent, please contact us at privacy@wellb.ai.

8 Third-Party Services

The wellB app may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g., wellness content platforms, payment processors). This Privacy Policy does not cover those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

9 International Data Transfers

wellB is headquartered in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

When transferring data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for transfers from the European Economic Area (EEA).

By using wellB, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to the United States and other countries as described in this policy.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Notify you via email (if you have an account) or in-app notification
  • For significant changes, provide at least 30 days' notice before the changes take effect

Your continued use of wellB after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
